U.S. Churches Assail Attacks in S. Africa

WASHINGTON —
American Protestant and Roman Catholic churches have sharply denounced recent attacks on church facilities in South Africa.
An Oct. 12 attack by arsonists on headquarters of the South African Catholic Bishops’ Conference severely damaged the building and records. An Aug. 31 bomb explosion destroyed Khotso House, the Johannesburg headquarters of the South African Council of Churches.
