Between 500 and 1,000 chanting anti-Ku Klux Klan demonstrators celebrated victory Saturday in front of Independence Hall, a week after white supremacists called off a rally for the same day.

A skirmish broke out outside the federal building near the Liberty Bell between the demonstrators and a few so-called skinheads, who had been unaware that the klan rally was canceled as opposition grew, but no arrests were made, police Capt. Ricard Delise said.
