BOISE — With 48% of the votes counted, Vice President George Bush carried Idaho with its four electoral votes. The tally was Bush, 66%, 106,722, and Michael S. Dukakis, 34%, 55,136.
In early congressional returns, the Democratic incumbent was winning in one race and the Republican incumbent in the other. In the First District, 8% of the precincts reporting, it was incumbent Larry E. Craig (R), 7,528, and Jeanne Givens (D), 3,201. In the Second District, 19% counted, incumbent Richard H. Stallings (D) had 16,595 and Dane Watkins (R) 9,224.
