Pushing Flowers

After Robert Hilburn mentioned U2 five times in his review of Hothouse Flowers at the Roxy, the Flowers may indeed have a hard time establishing their own identity (“Hothouse Flowers--Nothing Artificial,” Nov. 2).

I never made the U2 connection myself, but instead stupidly enjoyed them as artists in their own right.

U2 is doing quite well now and no longer needs Hilburn’s publicity machine. Perhaps he should go back to pushing Elvis Costello, as his sales have been down a bit lately.
