Fund-Raising Ideas That Raise Hope : Discount Coupons Garner Money for Medical Center

Share

Discount coupons valued at $65 for use on popular food and nonfood grocery items may be obtained for $5 through a special fund-raising project called Coupons of Hope.

For the ninth year, the Food Industries Circle is using this way to raise money for the City of Hope Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute.

A record goal of $3 million has been set for 1988-89. Two-thirds of this amount will be raised Friday when the Circle stages its 13th Annual Harvest Ball at the Century Plaza Hotel. Dinner chairman Maurice Charlat, president of Affiliated Horn Inc., said that a circus theme will greet the 1,800 guests.
