The Irvine-based investment firm O’Neill, Adler & Strauss has bought the Thomas Brothers Winery in Rancho Cucamonga and plans to incorporate the 149-year-old structure into a new, 111,000-square-foot speciality retail center.
An 8,500-square-foot restaurant and 92,000 square feet of retail space will be built around the 10,000-square-foot winery. The $16.5-million complex will take up a 10-acre site a the northeast corner of Foothill Boulevard and Vineyard Avenue. Completion is expected early next year.
The winery is the oldest in California and the second-oldest in the nation, according to the Ontario office of Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage Services, which is the new project’s exclusive leasing agent.
