Deaths of 10 Palisades Youths
I find the comments in this article made by school psychologist (Linda Levine) to be an insult to the student and their parents at Palisades High School.
Her “clever” assessment of the deaths of students recently is summed up in this one paragraph:
“Levine said many of the students are simply following the life style of their successful, driven parents. These kids are not nerds. ‘The nerds are not dying,” she said. “Raise your children to be nerds’.”
In other words, the kids who are behaving themselves and are surviving are nerds and she recommends raising your children to be nerds.
How ridiculous!
I hate to say it but I think it is easy to see who the nerds are and who are not. And the psychologist has got it exactly backwards.
