Police arrested three people at an East San Diego residence late Sunday in connection with rock cocaine sales, and 16 other people were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a police spokesman said.

Police arrived at the house in the 4100 block of Estrella Avenue at 9:30 p.m. after neighbors complained that drugs were being sold at an apartment, spokesman Dave Cohen said.

Police seized 57 small pieces of rock cocaine, each worth about $20; two large pieces of rock cocaine; a small quantity of methamphetamine; 5 ounces of marijuana; a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol; and $1,900 in cash, Cohen said.

Michael Duran Jackson, 31, Lawrence Murray, 33, and Mary Jane Walker, 26, all of East San Diego, were booked on suspicion of running a narcotics place, possessing rock cocaine for sale, possessing drugs for sale and being under the influence of a controlled substance, Cohen said.

Jackson and Murray are being held in the County Jail downtown, and Walker is being held at Las Colinas in Santee, Cohen said. Bail for each is $6,000 pending an arraignment today, jail clerks said.

The 16 other people arrested were sent to the downtown and Las Colinas facilities, where they were issued citations and released, Cohen said.
