Comarco Inc., an Anaheim defense contractor, reported earnings of $214,000 for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 23, up dramatically from $47,000 in the corresponding period a year ago. Revenue rose 6%, to $20 million from $18.9 million a year ago. For the 9 months, Comarco earned $5.7 million. It lost $9.7 million in the year-earlier period. Earnings for the latest 9 months included a one-time gain of $4.8 million as a result of an exchange of common stock for convertible debentures last April. Revenue for the 9 months rose 12%, to $65 million.
