Cute pop-metalists Bon Jovi are hopping on the glasnost bandwagon, the band’s management announced this week. The chart-topping rockers, currently on tour in Europe, are planning to perform in the Soviet Union between Monday and Dec. 2. The specific dates and sites have yet to be set but the shows may include playing with the Soviet rockers Gorky Park, who recently signed with Bon Jovi’s label, PolyGram. “A C chord in America is a C chord in Russia,” said Jon Bon Jovi. “There are no political barriers when it comes to kids and music or the problems kids have.” The upcoming Soviet shows will promote the Make a Difference Foundation, an anti-drug abuse group that also is compiling a benefit album featuring Bon Jovi and other heavy-metal bands such as Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne and the Scorpions.
