Apathy
Is it unfair that the Reagan White House withheld decisions that could have potentially hurt George Bush’s candidacy? People are crying hypocrite for the delayed notices of foreclosures to farmers, the request for review on the abortion issue in the Roe vs. Wade decision, and the loosening of rules to permit employees to work at home. Should the system work like this? The system has always worked like this for Democrats and Republicans. Common sense tells an administration to put off decisions that can be damaging.
The hypocrisy is in the voters who don’t investigate suspicions of an administration and vote for an extension of the same unfair party. The voters could have the advantage if they took the time to know the views of each candidate before voting. Apathy gave the advantage back to the Reagan Administration.
