San Diego-based American Ballet Ensemble made its debut as a touring troupe last weekend at the Teatro del Estado in Mexicali. The pair of performances south of the border ushered in the “Nutcracker” season for the company and introduced dancer Claire Taber in the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy. ABE will dance its full-length “Nutcracker” again in Tijuana Dec. 3-5, before settling into City College Theater for a two-weekend run in San Diego.
