Inspectors Find Plane Fit for Flight After Flash Fire

PORTLAND, Me. —
Federal inspectors on Tuesday examined a Continental Airlines Boeing 737 that landed safely just before an apparent flash fire in one of its engines and pronounced it fit for flight. There was no indication what caused the fire in the left engine after the plane landed Monday night, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said.
