NBC News has announced shifts of four correspondents, among them Robert Abernethy, a reporter at KNBC-TV Channel 4 in Burbank in the early ‘70s when Tom Snyder anchored the 6 p.m. news and Tom Brokaw the 11 p.m. edition. Now in Washington, Abernethy will move to Moscow, succeeding Sandy Gilmour, who will move to Washington. Henry Champ, now in London, also will move to Washington, while Miami-based Dennis Murphy will go to London. The shifts, announced late Tuesday, will occur early next year.
