Home Savings of America in Los Angeles is phasing out its commercial and industrial loan division in a move that eliminates 65 jobs in nine locations around the country. A Home Savings spokeswoman said the thrift would try to find jobs for the affected employees in other parts of the firm, which employs some 13,000 people nationwide. She added that the commercial and industrial loan operation accounted for less than 3% of Home Savings’ $10.2 billion in loan volume in the first nine months of 1988.
