Creche Statues Stolen
ROME — Thieves broke into Rome’s Basilica of Sts. Cosmas and Damian and stole 50 statues from a priceless 18th-Century creche, the church’s rector said Wednesday. The rector said the thieves entered through a back door of the ancient church during the night.
