NFL Suspends Miami’s Duper, Dallas’ Scott
Wide receiver Mark Duper of the Miami Dolphins and little-used defensive back Victor Scott of the Dallas Cowboys were suspended Wednesday for 30 days for violating the National Football League’s substance-abuse policy.
Because both clubs are out of playoff contention, the suspensions will be for the rest of the season. During the off-season, the NFL will decide whether the suspensions will be carried over to next season, according to Joe Browne, NFL spokesman.
The suspensions brought to 24 the number of players suspended for substance abuse this season. Neither the league nor the teams specified the substance involved.
