Controversy Over Toxic Incinerator

Share

It is time for the EPA to change its name. It obviously is not in the business of protecting people, or is it only Hispanics and low-income areas EPA chooses not to protect? To OK a hazardous waste incinerator without requiring an environmental impact report is an unconscionable decision and tantamount to stupidity. EPA would never do that if the plant were located in Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades or Westwood. But then again who is naive enough to believe a toxic plant would ever go in any one of those elite locations?

Maybe it is time for the EPA to close shop and allow a regulatory agency to come in that really believes in protecting children, and that means all children, rich or poor. I live near Operating Industries dump in Monterey Park, a toxic site the EPA is supposed to be cleaning up. The EPA’s methods leave a lot to be desired.
