Local News in Brief : Fullerton : Elks Lodge Offers $1,000 Scholarship
The Fullerton Elks Lodge is offering a $1,000 college scholarship to one boy and one girl attending a high school in Fullerton, Yorba Linda or Placentia.
The $1,000 scholarships are the first prizes in the organization’s Most Valuable Student scholarship competition, open to seniors planning to attend a 4-year college. Participating high schools are Buena Park, Fullerton, Sunny Hills, Rosary, Troy, El Dorado, Valencia and Esperanza.
Applicants will be judged on grades, Scholastic Aptitude Test scores, school and community leadership and financial need.
Applications are available from high school counselors and the Elks Lodge, 1451 Brea Blvd. Application deadline is Jan. 20. For more information, call (714) 870-1993.
