Share

TUESDAY, FOR THE FIRST time in 20 years, Los Angeles audiences will have an opportunity to see the Moscow Circus, when it arrives at the Forum in Inglewood for a six-day engagement. The 200-year-old circus is the most popular entertainment in the Soviet Union and an art form regarded as seriously as ballet or opera. Operated by the government agency Soyuzgoscirk, the nationwide circus employs more than 22,000 people, including 6,000 performers, and features 7,000 animals. The top acts--more than 100 people, including aerialists, jugglers and clowns, and 32 animals--were selected from 137 circus collectives for the 15-city North American tour.
