PLAINFIELD, Ind. — Three teen-agers were convicted of cruelty to an animal after admitting that they had performed a satanic cult initiation ritual that involved cutting out the heart of a stray cat, juvenile court records show. The youths, students at Plainfield High School, were sentenced to four months’ probation, 30 days of house arrest and mandatory psychological counseling.
According to juvenile court records, the youths confessed that they had performed the ritual beneath a bridge on Halloween. An investigator said the ritual represents the strongest evidence in an ongoing series of reports of satanic cult activity in Hendricks County.
