Injuries to Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Bernie Kosar and fullback Kevin Mack make them questionable for Sunday’s crucial regular season-ending game with the Houston Oilers, a Cleveland team spokesman said.

Kevin Byrne, a team spokesman, said Kosar, Mack and four teammates who returned from Monday night’s losing game at Miami limited their team activities today to exams by Dr. John Bergfeld, the team physician.

Kosar was knocked out of the Miami game with 9:17 left with a sprained left knee. Mack missed the game with a persistent knee injury.

Byrne said it is unlikely either would practice Wednesday when Coach Marty Schottenheimer outlines his game plan against Houston in a bid to win a playoff wild card berth.

In addition to Kosar and Mack, Byrne said, cornerback Hanford Dixon was suffering from a thigh pull and is unlikely to practice Wednesday; linebacker David Grayson had swelling at both knees from serious bruises and is not likely to practice until Thursday or Friday; defensive lineman Michael Dean Perry had a bruised thigh but should be able to practice and running back Herman Fontenot bruised an injured hip again and be may be slowed by the renewed problem.
