Two youths were wounded in a drive-by shooting about 8:30 p.m. Monday as they were walking in the 2300 block of Anahurst Place, police said.

The boys, 15 and 16, were walking together when a car drove by and someone inside the car shot at them, Police Lt. Dan McCoy said.

“A passenger from that vehicle pointed what appeared to be a small-caliber rifle from the window and fired at least two shots,” McCoy said.

One boy was shot in the left wrist and the other in the back, but the wounds were not serious, McCoy said. They were treated at local hospitals.

McCoy said officers did not know if the shooting was gang-related, but the incident was under investigation.
