Valencia’s Shepard Named Top Player in Orange League
Guy Shepard, Valencia High School’s wide receiver-defensive back, was named the most valuable player of the Orange League in a vote of the league’s football coaches.
Shepard caught 34 passes for 519 yards and nine touchdowns and also intercepted eight passes. Fullback Keef Leasure of Valencia was named the back of the year and linebacker Steve Rangel of Valencia was the lineman of the year.
Valencia, which won its sixth consecutive league title, dominated the first teams with nine players selected.
