Leaders of the flight attendants union at Continental Airlines say they don’t anticipate a strike against the airline over wages, even though the membership has authorized a walkout if necessary. Negotiations with Houston-based Continental will resume in January. The union represents about 5,600 attendants, with 60% to 70% of them dues-paying union members. They have been working without a contract for five years.
