Italy’s Francesco Damiani retained his European heavyweight title and stayed undefeated by knocking out West German challenger Manfred Jassmann in the third round at Sassari, Sardinia.
Damiani, 30, who hopes to fight Mike Tyson for the world title next summer, sent Jassmann to the canvas for the count with a powerful left hook to the midsection.
Damiani is 23-0, Jassmann 31-8-2.
