College Roundup : Fullerton Women (7-1) Off to Their Best Start

Gena Miller scored a career-high 29 points to lead Cal State Fullerton to an 82-66 victory in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Fullerton.
Kathy Worth added 16 points and 6 rebounds to help Fullerton (7-1, 1-0), which is off to its best start ever.
Julie Szukalski had 27 points and 9 rebounds to lead Pacific (1-6, 0-2).
In Big West Conference women’s basketball:
Cal State Long Beach 108, UC Irvine 44--Natasha Parks had 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead Irvine (2-4, 0-2) at Long Beach.
Long Beach (4-2, 2-0), the nation’s seventh-ranked team, was led by Dana Wilkerson (20 points), and Shameil Coleman (18).
Long Beach led at halftime, 51-20.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Southern California College 73, Concordia (Michigan) 59--Roxanne Trost and Lori Halliday scored 19 points each to lead SCC at home. With 5 minutes remaining in the game, SCC had to play with just 3 players because the 4 others had fouled out. SCC still outscored Concordia in the final 5 minutes, 12-8.
In a Western Christian Athletic Assn. men’s basketball game:
Pacific Christian College 71, Loma Linda 67--Mike DeVries scored 19 points to lead PCC (10-5) at Loma Linda in Riverside.
In a nonconference wrestling match:
Minnesota 29, Cal State Fullerton 10--Erin Millsap defeated Ben Morris, 12-7, in the 118-pound class, and Martin Armendarez defeated Joe Reasbeck, 9-5, in the 158-pound class to lead Fullerton (2-3, 2-1) at home. Minnesota (4-0) is ranked No. 8 in the nation by Amateur Wrestling News. Paul Halewijn and David Jones managed ties for the Titans.
