54% of Isralis Support PLO Talks, Poll Finds

JERUSALEM — Most Israelis support peace negotiations with the Palestine Liberation Organization if it lives up to its commitment to halt terrorism, according to an opinion poll published Friday.
The poll by the Dahaf Institute published in Yediot Aharonot, Israel’s biggest-selling newspaper, said 54% of Israeli Jews are in favor of talks and 44% are against.
The poll did not sample Israel’s 650,000 Arab citizens.
