The State : Police Rescue Kidnap Victim
A high-speed car chase in Barstow ended in the rescue of a flower shop clerk missing since a robbery last week in Las Vegas and the arrest of two Maryland residents, authorities said. Belinda Jane Staubs, 24, had been abducted when King’s Flowers was robbed of $300. James McKay III, 20, and Dorinda White, 21, both of Leonardstown, Md., were booked at a San Bernardino County sheriff’s station for investigation of auto theft, drunk driving, reckless driving, kidnaping with injury and eluding a peace officer. Police chased the car at more than 90 m.p.h.
