Shanghai Snug--With No Bedbugs

BEIJING —
China revealed Sunday the existence of a shadowy official organization whose function is to monitor state standards in bedbugs.
The New China News Agency’s English-language service alerted foreign readers to the group with a brief item that said in full:
“China’s leading industrial city of Shanghai has recently been recognized as one of the cities without bedbugs by the National Bedbug Control Appraisal Group. For many years, the city had kept bedbug density below the state standard.”
