A 22-year-old sailor stationed aboard the guided missile frigate Rentz was found shot to death shortly after midnight Monday outside a Mission Valley nightclub.
San Diego police identified the victim as Kennesey Howard, 22, who was stationed at the 32nd Street Naval Station.
A police spokesman said patrol officers were called to Bogey’s Night Club about 1:30 a.m. and found Howard, apparently shot several times, on a sidewalk.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
