Bengals Tackle Walter to Miss Playoffs
Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Joe Walter had surgery to repair a torn knee ligament Thursday and will miss the rest of the season.
Walter partially tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Bengals’ 20-17 overtime victory over Washington in the regular-season finale. He had delayed surgery hoping that he might recover in time for the Bengals’ AFC divisional playoff Saturday against Seattle. However, he aggravated the injury while trying to jog at the team’s Spinney Field workout site this week.
The Bengals are expected to replace Walter with defensive end Eddie Edwards.
