BANGKOK, Thailand —
Eight Thai reporters were murdered in 1988, one was seriously injured by a car bomb and another was beaten up, the Bangkok Post reported Saturday.
The newspaper quoted prominent human rights lawyer Thongbai Thongpao, who catalogued the attacks, as saying that they reflected a lack of “security and safety for journalists. . . in this country despite an improvement in the democratic atmosphere.”
