Program Successful for Health Students
Cal State Fullerton has announced that for the second year in a row, 100% of its Health Professions Program students who applied to professional schools were accepted. The applicants were students seeking admittance to medical, dental or other health-related schools.
Miles D. McCarthy, emeritus professor of biology and coordinator of the Health Professions Program, said Cal State Fullerton’s work in preparing students for advanced health-care study has gained a very favorable national reputation.
He said the university had been moving up in recent years in the percentage of students accepted for professional schools, culminating in the past 2 years with 100% acceptances. “Since 1980, the acceptance rate has climbed above the 85% mark every year but one and has passed the 90% mark four times,” McCarthy said.
