NATION : Irangate Story at End: Thornburgh

WASHINGTON — Atty. Gen. Richard Thornburgh said today that the public has learned as much as it ever will about the Iran-Contra scandal.
Thornburgh told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that extensive congressional hearings and a review by a presidential commission has provided Americans with all they will ever know. On Thursday, independent counsel Lawrence Walsh sought dismissal of the two central charges against fired White House aide Oliver L. North after U.S. intelligence agencies blocked disclosure of classified information that he said was needed for his case. Walsh’s move raised questions about whether the full story would ever come out.
