Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : Math Professor 1 of 4 in State to Get Honor
Jean Vincenzi, a mathematics professor at Saddleback College, is one of four community college faculty members in the state to receive this year’s Hayward Award for outstanding achievement.
Vincenzi was selected by the statewide Academic Senate for California Community Colleges.
A resident of San Juan Capistrano, Vincenzi joined Saddleback College in 1968 and served as president of the statewide Academic Senate in 1977-78.
She is now Saddleback College’s coordinator for the new Cal State Fullerton branch to be built on the Saddleback campus. Her duties also include coordinating administrative and academic changes mandated by the state’s new community college reformation law.
