Public television’s “American Playhouse” plans to shoot two joint Soviet-American productions in the Soviet Union this year. The two films, “American Exhibition” and “Odyssey,” are based on the experiences of Americans living in the Soviet Union and will feature Soviet and American actors, writers and directors. “Exhibition” chronicles the experience of playwright Tom Cole when he worked 30 years ago as a guide at the “American Exhibition” in Moscow, which showcased post-World War II American ingenuity. “Odyssey” tells the true story of a group of disgruntled American auto workers who moved to Russia in the 1930s to create an auto factory funded by Henry Ford.
