China Eastern Airlines of China said it will will buy five McDonnell Douglas MD-11 long-range jetliners. The MD-11 is an advanced three-engine, wide-cabin plane being developed by the Douglas Aircraft Co. division of McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach. Value of the order, including spare parts and training services, exceeds $500 million. Orders and other commitments for the MD-11 total 250 aircraft from 25 customers.
