From Times wire services
FIGUERAS, Spain —
Salvador Dali was rushed to the hospital early today and placed in the intensive care unit after suffering heart failure, doctors said.
A six-doctor team at Figueras Hospital said the 84-year-old surrealist artist’s condition was stable and he was in no immediate danger. Dali has suffered chronic heart ailments in recent years. He has been hospitalized three times the last two months for severe heart trouble and in 1986 underwent surgery to receive a pacemaker.
