Local News in Brief : Irvine : Pro-Choice Groups to Mark Anniversary
A coalition of pro-choice groups will hold a family picnic Saturday at Irvine’s Heritage Park to commemorate the 16th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion.
The public is invited to bring lunches and join the picnic, which begins at 1 p.m. at the Youth Services Center in the park at 14301 Yale Ave. Beverages will be provided and games are planned.
The picnic is sponsored by Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino counties, the North Orange County chapter of the National Organization for Women, Women For and the Alliance for Survival.
