The Navy has suspended two private defense consultants from any government contracting pending the outcome of federal indictments against them in the Pentagon fraud scandal, the Defense Department announced. The Navy has barred William Parkin, his firm Crest Inc., Fred Lackner and his firm Acris Associates from contracting with any federal agency until legal proceedings are resolved, the Defense Department said. Parkin and Lackner pleaded innocent last week to charges of conspiring with officials of Teledyne Industries and Navy procurement official Stuart Berlin to use inside information on procurement matters.
