Discounts Are Offered in Caribbean

Several Caribbean destinations are offering discounts during the winter season.

You can get a “Bon Bini Winter Discount Booklet” about Curacao that includes coupons for discounts on some car rentals and tours, and at shops and restaurants; free admission to nightclubs; a cocktail party at some hotels, and gambling chips worth $5. Some coupons, such as those for sightseeing attractions, are two-for-one offers.

Free gifts are provided at some stores once you spend a certain amount.

The discount booklet only is available if you spend seven or more nights on the island. However, hotel stays don’t have to be at the same property. The coupons are valid through April 15.

Cayman Airways also is offering a discount coupon booklet. Coupons offer a minimum 10% savings at participating shops, hotels, restaurants, rental cars, sightseeing attractions, and diving and snorkeling tours in the Cayman Islands.

The booklet is provided at check-in at the carrier’s gateway cities of Miami, Houston, Tampa and Atlanta and coupons are good until June 30. Contact travel agents.

At St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Budget Rent-a-Car is offering a free coupon booklet if you rent a car at least for one day. The booklet contains coupons to sightseeing attractions, restaurants, para-sailing, tours and harbor cruises, and snorkel gear rental, among other items. Contact Budget at (800) 472-3325.

Bermuda is offering dining discount programs at participating restaurants until March 31. The price for a four-course dinner can be as much as 40% off regular costs, according to the Bermuda Department of Tourism.

Under one dine-around plan you can choose dinner at more than 20 restaurants for either $17.50, $22.50 or $27.50 per person. Beverages and tips extra.
