Two people aboard a helicopter were killed when the aircraft clipped power lines and crashed in flames in a remote brushy area of Santa Barbara County, authorities said. The victims were identified as Francis William Murphy, 37, of Goleta, and William Donald Warren, 27, of Santa Barbara. The Robinson R-22 Alpha craft was owned by Enchanted Kingdom Helicopters and based at Santa Barbara Aviation. Murphy and Warren had taken the helicopter up for a 30-minute ride, officials said. Skies were clear at the time of the crash in heavy brush near citrus groves about eight miles from former President Ronald Reagan’s Rancho del Cielo. The Reagans were worshiping at a church near their Bel-Air home at the time. Power was knocked out to about 500 homes and businesses.
