Police used bomb-sniffing dogs to check the Lebanese Consulate in Hollywood this morning after authorities in New York received a telephoned threat to retaliate against the Lebanese Embassy in Washington for the Dec. 21 downing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in which 270 people died. The sweep of the consulate at 7060 Hollywood Blvd. turned up no evidence of any explosive device, said Detective Patrick Metoyer of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Criminal Conspiracy Section.
