Sundstrand Corp. said it has agreed to pay a total of $71.3 million to settle government charges that it used a complicated accounting system to defraud the Pentagon. At the same time, the Rockford, Ill., aerospace and defense contractor said the Defense Logistics Agency lifted its suspension of the firm from government bids. The agency enacted the ban in October when Sundstrand paid $127.3 million in fines after pleading guilty to five counts.
