Entertainment executive Norman Lear sold 20% of his company, Act III Communications, to Tractebel, a diversified Belgian concern. The price was not disclosed. Lear, probably best known as the creator of “All in the Family” and other television series, said he sold an interest to increase the firm’s capital. Thomas B. McGrath, Act III president and chief operating officer, said capital infusion would make it easier to finance acquisitions. He said, however, the firm wasn’t under any pressure to raise capital.
