Share

Orange County residents and court personnel are invited to attend a public hearing in Los Angeles to share their personal experiences or research on issues relating to sex bias in the court system.

The purpose of the hearing--one of five to be held statewide--is to determine whether sex bias exists in the courts, and if so, how widespread it is statewide, said Holly J. Mitchell, a deputy to state Sen. Diane Watson (D-Los Angeles), co-chairman of the state’s Judicial Council Advisory Committee on Gender Bias in the Courts. The committee has called for the five hearings statewide.

Family law, juvenile law and domestic violence are some of the topics that will be discussed at the hearing, Mitchell said.
