Local News in Brief : Garden Grove : City Sees 7% Increase in Annual Revenues

Share

The city’s annual revenues have increased about 7%, largely due to increased development and renewal of the old downtown area, city officials announced Friday at the annual State of the City Luncheon.

City spokesman John Bushman said annual revenues for fiscal year 1987-’88 were about $43.4 million, up from $40.5 million for fiscal year 1986-’87.

At the luncheon, hosted by the city and the Chamber of Commerce, Mayor W. E. Donovan said he expects revenues to continue growing once the $21-million renovation of Garden Grove Mall and office and commercial development in the city’s downtown are completed.

“As business goes, so does Garden Grove,” Donovan said.
