A computer whiz accused of masterminding the killing of his wife and then setting up his teen-age daughter to take the blame for the 1985 murder is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Superior Court in Santa Ana. David A. Brown, 36, of Anaheim Hills faces murder charges along with his present wife, Patricia A. Bailey, 20, the sister of the dead woman.

The daughter, Cinnamon Brown, has spent the last 3 years in a California Youth Authority facility in Camarillo after she was convicted of having shot and killed her stepmother, Linda Marie Brown, as the stepmother slept in the family’s Garden Grove home on March 19, 1985. Last fall, Cinnamon Brown broke her silence about the case and told investigators she killed her stepmother only after elaborate prodding from her father.
