KTSF-TV Channel 26 in San Francisco will celebrate the Chinese New Year by launching what the station says is the first live half-hour local Chinese newscast in the United States. Beginning Monday and airing weeknights at 9 p.m., the newscast in Cantonese will cover local, national and international news with emphasis on stories from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The reporters will be Mei-Ling Sze and Philip Choi from Hong Kong Television Broadcasting.
